Dr. Wander with dogs

Dr. Rachel Wander with Niki, Mouse, Sam, & Bernard

Rachel Wander, DVM

Rachel Wander received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Florida in May 2002. Since graduation, she has practiced small animal medicine, surgery, and emergency medicine in Maryland. While she enjoyed practicing in traditional veterinary hospitals, Dr. Wander felt that there simply was not enough time allotted to each pet's appointment to discuss proper preventative care and to get to know the needs of each client and pet. In addition, pets were often scared of the car ride to the hospital and of the strange sounds and smells once they arrived there. The time had come to provide mobile veterinary services, allowing longer visits with personalized treatment plans.

Dr. Wander always knew that she would become a veterinarian and now strives to improve the human-animal bond. She treats each animal as if it was her own and only wishes to provide the very best medical and surgical care. Her veterinary interests include preventative wellness care, dermatology (especially ear infections!), dentistry, senior wellness and hospice care, aquatic animal medicine (think fish) and rehabilitation therapy. Dr. Wander also enjoys community outreach activities such as assisting with science fairs, pet-facilitated therapy, and volunteering at schools to teach children about proper pet care.

Dr. Wander lives with her husband Brian, their son Rohan and their many rescued pet-children including a Border Collie-Golden mix, 2 Shelties, a Collie, 3 crazy cats, a California King Snake, and a multitude of fish.

Current affiliations include: American Veterinary Medical Association, Maryland Veterinary Medical Association, Western Maryland Association of Veterinary Medicine, and the Veterinary Information Network.

Veterinary Technician—Michele Schoch

While Michele has always had a love of nature and a natural connection to animals, she first chose to serve our country by enlisting in the U.S. Coast Guard following high school. Following her honorable discharge from the USCG, Michele gained experience in retail sales and the musical industry, while earning a degree in visual communications with a concentration in video production and graphics.

Since 2002 Michele has been working as a veterinary technician and completed the FCC Veterinary Assistant Program in 2004. In addition, Michele regularly attends continuing education courses in the field of veterinary medical technology, including laboratory courses in dentistry, anesthesia, and rehabilitation. Always eager to gain knowledge, she has plans to become a licensed technician.

Michele enjoys bringing quality veterinary care directly to our clients and their pets, and encouraging a stronger understanding of the animal-human bond.

Michele’s interests include music, reading, art, theater, sports, the world around us, and of course animals, especially marine animals. Michele is a "caretaker," always ready to lend a helping hand. She lives with her two children, her parents, a brother and his son, and her fish. She would love to have more animals in her life, but "the house is a little full at the moment."
